Venue Atmosphere

The Grizzly 100/75 has become an international attraction for mountain bikers from all over the world.  With some of the most challenging single-track, double-track, and fire road climbs and descents, participants love to challenge themselves and others on this high altitude course (at 7000-8500 feet elevation).  The Clarks Grade Climb has made a name for itself as one of the most dreaded 5 mile climbs in Southern California.  The Grizzly 100k NUE Century Challenge and the 70-75k NUE Marathon Challenge welcome racers and riders to Big Bear Lake, CA.  The Big Bear MTB Gran Fondo with sport rides of 30/50k rounds out the day’s events.  Astonishing aid stations, friendly volunteers, and lots of local enthusiasm for this event make it a great finish to the NUE Series.

Anyone that calls themselves a mountain bike racer should plan on doing an NUE event, this IS mountain bike racing!" David Turner, 2016 third place Masters Division
