From: Big Bear Grizzly 100 and Gran Fondo Race Director, Derek Hermon,
After almost 11 consecutive years of hosting and promoting the Grizzly 100 & Big Bear Mountain Bike Gran Fondo, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the 2025 event indefinitely due to forest closures, making it impossible to safely host and organize an event that we are proud of that has the big mountain course that we are known for.
We had hoped to use the South shore and the original Grizzly course, which is what makes this event special, and with the recent addition of additional fires in Big Bear, the forest closure has expanded, preventing us from obtaining a permit for this year. We aim to resume the event as normal in 2026. All 2024 registrations will be deferred to the new date in 2026 once it is set. We are actively working to reschedule the event and will provide updates as soon as they become available. The safety of all our participants, staff, volunteers, and the local community is our top priority. Athletes who have registered for the event this year will be refunded.
We hope you will join us in 2026 for the best edition of the Grizzly 100 & Big Bear Mountain Gran Fondo to date.
We appreciate your understanding.
Derek Hermon
