Marji Gesick

Race Description: Point-to-Point adventure across Marquette County (Michigan). Climb 13,000 feet beginning in Marquette and ending downtown Ishpeming. Race against Tinker Juarez, 2016 Marji Gesick Champion, as he returns in 2017 to defend his title. This race is self-supported. There are no official aid-stations. GPS is required. To qualify as a finisher, you will be required to collect a poker chip from four checkpoints along the course. Location of checkpoints is not disclosed. They will be highly visible the day of the race. In the event you arrive at the finish line without all four checkpoint chips you will not be eligble for belt buckles, dollar bills or awards. Worried about not having aid-stations? Fear not as the community comes out in full force to support this event. Don’t take it from us, take it from the racers.

Begins at the NTN Forestville Pole Barn and ends in Downtown Ishpeming. This IS NOT a loop race.

Trail Description: 

100 miles and 13,000 vertical feet armored with rocks, roots, drops, jump lines, flow trails, grueling climbs, dangerous technical descents and a final fifteen miles designed to push riders to their mental and physical limits.
